Day 1: 3DD

Tasks-
1.       Create a box out of paper that can hold a water bottle 30cm off the ground
2.       Draw objects/ numbers/ letters then adapt them into something else
3.       Create a chair that can hold your weight 30cm off the ground
The first project I failed as my tower collapsed, however I was successful in the third one, as I was able to stand on it without it falling through. From completing the second task, I understand how designers work, by creating an object but not in a stereotypical shape or way.  For the third task, I was advised by my tutor to look at the points in my ‘chair’ that were weak, and find a way to address this and improve them.

I have found from each task that thinking on my feet leads to different outcomes, in the first task; my object was not strong enough, as I had not addressed what points were weak and how the object reacts to pressure. However, in the third task I had learned that problems need to be addressed early on in the process. With the second task I found that I regularly jumped to the first idea in my head and then went through with it, however what I should do is think about what to do before I start.

In each of the tasks I finished early, this spare time should have been used to amend mistakes or improve the aesthetic value of my object. In addition, time could have been used beforehand with planning.
