Day 3: Timeline

I was given the task to design a time line for the past 4 days of the week. I was shown some artists that works with and creates timelines, one of them was Ward Shelley whose work is very intricate and slightly confusing (i find) his work annotates various events that have happened over a period of time; such as 'Downtown Body' which juxtaposes music, theatre and other cultural choices across a 90 year period.

My timeline is very different to Shelley's; rather than having an intricate and and interesting design mine is rather bulky, has no distinct flow to it, is scaled in days rather than years and it contains photographs and symbols rather than words that show what it means.
The post cards that are on my timeline are what I picked up from the exhibition to the V&A, I have them across the page to break up the flow, and split the days apart.

I have used pins and string to link certain memories together, such as the main amount of string comes and goes from the pins around Wednesday to the postcards in Tuesday, this is because I drew pictures from memory that I saw in the exhibition the day before.

The photos in Tuesday I have ripped or crumpled up, this is to give them an old and tattered effect, I have done this because the items have now been buried and over time it will deteriorate into nothingness.

If I do this project again I will use more colour as I feel my timeline looks quite drab and boring compared to others.
